Made from taking two large atx (the form factor, the chassis) computer panels (that i havent used in quite some time), rubbing the entirety of them together quite brashly (one is on the ground), keeping the recorder on xy setup in my other hand in unison then dropping them onto each other. Inside of reaper, i begin changing the rate and pitching them down and applied saturation, distortion and reverberation gave them a very clean effect of a decrepit gate shutting down. Good for trapping your enemies in a battle to the death for which the title is inspired from; one of those tension moments a person in a film/game finds themselves in.

An audio translation of statistics on the current covid-19 pandemic. A sound composition that makes the pandemic tangible on an acoustic level, based on data series and curves. The basis for the auditory presentation of the statistics is provided by pixelsynth, a browser-based synthesiser for generating sounds from images. A cursor scrolls over the monochrome image of a statistic and plays notes when it comes into contact with bright pixels. The audio tracks generated by pixelsynth from the statistics were then recorded in logic pro and individually processed using effects, automations and other synths and sounds. Additional information: the audio is complemented by appropriate animations of the statistics, which cannot be shown here, however.

Heavy distortion with some ample amount of delay. The very beginning is rather moody and trippy, then it kicks in for a slow arena rock style guitar solo, then some random notes for the ending.

A can of liquid being opened, poured, and slammed down onto the table. The slamming can also be used as a sound effect for money or coins. It is a gentle sound without any fizz.

Sound of an old door creaking open. you can hear the stress and rust on the hitch as it swings open. Great for a haunted house or halloween sound effect.

Pistol fired outdoors with ricochet. Single shot, fairly close, with fast fadeout. Narrow stereo image, no panning, almost monophonic. Wholly synthesized. No weapon was fired in the making of this sound. It's an emulated sound effect of a sidearm gunshot with a cliche ricochet sound, like in the vintage western movies and ww2 films that they showed on tv when i was a kid. Can be used in a game, perhaps, or a none-too-serious vidclip. The sound of the pistol cartridge explosion is default flstudio kick, clap and snare slowed right down. A single tap of delay is added to lend an impression of echo off a middle distance hard surface. The ricochet noise was made with sytrus running as a vsti inside flstudio. It took an entire day of head scratching, oscillator tweaking and envelope mangling to get something that reasonably resembles a sound that i recall from the old movies. I think i'll shoot myself before i try something like this again. :). Plus the usual flstudio compressors, eq, reverb and delay - nothing tricky, just standard stuff.

I first generated a sinusoid at 440 hz with audacity, i then changed the pitch to f#/gb low and i applied a tremolo effect wetness 40% and a frequency of 4. 0 hz. We can also ear crossfades in and out.

Sound created from using the rings of saturn as a spectral source to a series of filters. When a 1 pixel high image of the rings is extracted it looks like a spectrogram (original: https://en. The ring spectrogram was divided into three color planes, and the color intensity values were transformed into resonant filter cutoff frequencies. In essence one filter unit (per color plane) has 256 sounds playing simultaneously. The individual filters are placed along the x-axis so, that the stereo image consists of 256 steps from left to right. In this sound of the series the spectrum was compressed to a range of 20 - 1000 hz. A small variation in certain divider factor per color plane is introduced for a slight chorus like effect.

All i did is that i recorded and played a little riff on my violin with my ipad, and then add some reverb, and delay effects in audacity. (very eerie-like, but pretty). This kind of reverb used in the beginning and end of the riff is a cathedral room-like sound, and a few seconds of delay. I used mostly double-stops during the riff. Enjoy.

This is an attempt to create the sound of a high velocity handgun, the five seven by twenty eight milimeter, in which the first shot is normal, just edited for the echo associated with a larger caliber handgun, and second shot is editied slightly to mimick the effect of a "silencer". Recorded with samsung hmx-f90,. 22 magnum fired on private firing range, edited with windows movie maker. Enjoy.

This piece is a sound-sculpture of a weather effect commonly called the beast from the east in the uk. It is based on a longer piece by me called frozen kaos. This was constructed by me using only copywrite free sources of sounds, musical(ish) pieces and natural sounds. All of these were assembled and processed using the free software package audacity™. Most samples have been filtered, pitched, and manipulated vastly to make the basic foundation. On that base all the rest of the sounds were layer (over 200 different layers -- manipulated, mixed down, rebuilt, remixed, manipulated). I mostly work be happenstance and never take notes -- often what comes about is as much by chance as by design.

As part of a class assignment, we were given the hindi pop track "simply falling," and were asked to slow the track down add heavy reverb to it. The result is this eerie, noisy ambience of screeches, groans, and whispers. I've used this track in a few horror projects.

This is one of those sound effects you kind of go "huh?" about when you hear. Let me explain what this is and how i imagine it being used. To me, it sounded like a good sound effect for when a computer (whether in a game or animation or whatever) screen starts writing down text (in other words, when a message is displayed on a screen and is written down one letter at a time until the complete message is shown). There are two versions here. The first one fades out (to be used a single time), and the second one is loopable (so you can loop it to make it last longer). Part 2 of 3, swooshes. While on skype, someone i was calling left the mic on while he packed for a trip. A transmission error caused a unique distortion effect while he was moving gear and typing. These are the swooshes, normally made from dragging objects or sustained rustling. . . I think.

Me doing an impression of a mouse for a project, as i didn't find any that suited on here. It's me squeaking, pitched and speed up a little. I am a human, not a mouse (although i did use a mouse to make the sound (a computer mouse - no mice were harmed in the making of this sound effect)).

This was a pretty hard work. I only use a triple osc and i took an advantage of the several asio bugs of my soundcard. I don't mix the sound. I've re-recorded that shape 15 times, after that, i applied massive echo and reverb filters. 3 osc, echo, reverb, compressor.

I was just messing around in audacity, doing some things with a party noise maker sound effect, i slowed it down, put some reverb & echo, messed with the pitch a little bit, and got this! it's supposed to be kinda like "trumpets in the sky" and/or war of the worlds inspired.

Generated in audacity by applying the vocoder effect to a sine-wave tone from a spoken work, "yes", recording and then removing the voice component. 24/48 mono recording of the sound of a fnx. 45 acp being shot slowly in a gun range 9 times. During the recording there are a couple shell casing that can be heard hitting the floor. There is a long break after the final shot before the target is recalled on the automatic rail system. There is a slightly echo-y natural reverberation to the gun range. Other than that the recording is very quiet in-between shots and each shot sound was allowed to dissipate before another round was fired.
